SEC leads charge in 4-year scholarship offers

The days of the 1-year scholarship appear to be numbered.

Alabama head football coach, Nick Saban, announced this week that he (and likely the rest of the SEC) will begin offering 4-year scholarships beginning in 2013.

The new NCAA rule, which allows schools the option to offer prospects multi-year scholarships, was not well-received by all 330 Division I schools that participated in the vote. 62 percent, in fact, voted to override the legislation.
